Stellar Pharmacy Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Manager to work in our Avondale office from 10:30am-7pm Monday through Friday.
The Pharmacy Manager oversees/directs all aspects of pharmacy operations including all inventory procurement, dispensing of medication, home medical equipment (HME), and ancillary supplies. The Pharmacy Manager develops and implements policies and procedures and supervises pharmacy staff.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
· Organizing and directing the pharmacy program’s operations to assure the availability of services and products provided.
· Assures drug dispensing system is consistent with policies and regulatory requirements.
· Assures safe and appropriate service policies are developed and implemented.
· Assure drug control system is consistent with policies and regulatory requirements.
· Oversees all facets of the daily operations of the organizational unit, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, policies, and regulations.
· Participates in the development and management of annual operating budgets and planning for the operating unit.
· Develops or assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and safe operation of the department.
· Prepares and/or oversees preparation and dispensing of prescription medications to patients or medical practitioners and make decisions regarding appropriate generic substitution of prescribed pharmaceuticals.
· Counsels patients and/or medical practitioners on drug indications or contraindications, dosage and administration, drug interactions, side effects, and provides other drug and pharmaceutical information as appropriate.
· Advises medical practitioners on various aspects of prescribing through meetings, newsletters, and other forms of verbal and written communication.
· Develops and implements systems to maintain records of employees, equipment inventories, and compliance activities.
· Directs/coordinates/supports preparation for pharmacy CHAP accreditation survey.
· Checks all daily orders and auto-fill medications.
· Assures adequate and appropriate staffing.
· Staff development including orientation, in-service education, and continuing education.
· Coordinates with other areas of the organization and senior management as appropriate according to the organizational structure.
· Keeps current on local issues and trends.
· Assures that service provided meets ethical standards of practice.
· Directs staff in performance of their duties.
· Assures an adequate inventory of equipment and supplies, including periodic inspection for outdated products.
· Assures all equipment is utilized in the delivery of the organization’s products and services are properly maintained.
· Assures the availability of necessary supplies and pharmaceuticals to dispense prescriptions appropriately.
· Always assures appropriate staff supervision. This includes a scheduled licensed pharmacist on duty during all hours of operation, all on-call circumstances, and any absence situations.
· Ensures pharmacy team completes the minimum number of scripts per month as identified by President/CEO and/or COO.

Pay: $92,650.00 - $107,155.00 per year
