ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leads the day to day Crew activities including but not limited to driving the “plan of the day", problem solving daily issues, plans with support staff future goals and changes.
Maintain a solid understanding and efficient use of various databases and the IQMS system. Effectively and efficiently input data to ascertain current information and accurate reporting. Assign the training and assistance for Crew in the effective utilization of same.
Drive activity that supports highly favorable Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) including changeover times within established goals, preplanning activities with a look-forward of 36 hours and accountability for the generation of scrap among the assigned Crew.
Drive Crew and production related responsibilities and activities associated with ISO certification, present or future, within established departmental and corporate target dates.
Liaise with any/all other departments in all matters related to the efficient and effective manufacture and production of corporate products.
Lead and oversee all Crew members including but not limited to development, training, coaching, and mentoring.
Facilitate company communications as needed.
Promote and foster the company’s top performer culture.
Foster, support and drive continuous improvement programs in support of best practices and efficient and effective production processes.
Take ownership of and strongly drive an employee suggestion initiative; work with Human Resources and others to ascertain highly effective results.
Maintain knowledge of, drive and support the MRB/sort hold and quality processes.
Maintain sharp awareness of the responsibilities and accountability of each member of the Crew and drive their effective and efficient performance.
Participate in the preparation and delivery of performance evaluations. Support the process by adhering to process timelines and key target dates and evangelizing a philosophy of confidentiality.
Address employee relations issues on varying levels; engage with Human Resources on any issue that extends beyond minor daily activity. May include policy violations, conflicts of interest and personality and behavioral issues, among others.
Actively engage in meetings, both internally and externally, and various forms of communication including but not limited to telephone, e-mail, web based, and conference calls.
Develop and foster strong working relationships across the organization.
Balance labor requirements considering vacations, leaves of absence, rework, plant shutdowns, and others.
Lead by example in assuring all components of Suppliers Audit for Food Excellence (SAFE) are followed, including but not limited to:
- Professional, neat appearance/presentation at all times.
- Assured the production area is neat and organized at all times.
- Maintain a clean and well organized warehouse.
- Assure proper practices for chemical control.
- Advise employees of non-conformance to SAFE and effectively influence improvements.
- Conduct internal housekeeping audits.
Assure the safe operation of tow motors and all company equipment including safety inspections.
Identify and address potential safety issues in an expedient manner. Evangelize the company’s perspective and culture regarding overall workplace safety.

Solid understanding of the value of consistently applied policies, practices, work rules, and others among like members and levels of production staff.
Ability to manage and balance multiple priorities.
High level of energy and motivation.
Ability to communicate effectively on all levels from truck drivers to management.
Intermediate to advanced level technical ability. Particular expertise in ERP systems with high value place on knowledge of IQMS, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet.
Proven team player and a diligent customer servant.
Ability to successfully work collaboratively.
Strong organization, follow-up and time management skills along with the ability to effectively multi-task.
A high level of trustworthiness and the ability to achieve integrity on all levels.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED. Some college or a college degree preferred, with emphasis in operations or business management.
5-7 solid years of experience in a related industry or discipline. Plastic injection molding experience highly beneficial.
Intermediate computer and technology skills.
