Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated APE Teacher to provide remote services to K-12 students. The ideal candidate will develop and implement adapted physical education programs for students with diverse needs in a virtual environment. You will work closely with students, parents, and other educational staff to create engaging and inclusive physical education experiences that promote physical fitness, motor skills, and overall well-being. This role requires strong collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to support students’ physical goals. This role requires availability on M-F between 8am-4pm.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized APE programs tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Utilize a variety of virtual tools and resources to create engaging and effective physical education lessons.
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ physical abilities, needs, and progress.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of students' progress and provide regular updates to parents and school staff.
- Offer guidance and support to students and parents to facilitate participation in virtual physical activities.
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and school staff to develop comprehensive IEPs and ensure the integration of APE services into the students' overall educational plans.
- Stay current with best practices in adapted physical education and virtual teaching methodologies.
- Maintain detailed documentation of sessions, assessments, and communications in accordance with company policies and educational standards.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Adapted PhysicalEducation or a related field.
- Valid California state license in Adapted Physical Education.
- Previous experience working with children or in a school setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of the principles and practices of Adapted Physical Education applicable to a K-12 educational setting.
Skills:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and school staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to foster an engaging and supportive educational environment.
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Comfort with technology and proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for remote education and communication.
