Health and Safety Specialist
The Health and Safety Specialist will lead and drive health and safety initiatives for our organization. This role will maintain compliance and adhere to health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
The Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for continuously monitoring and adapting safety procedures and operations to ensure a safe and fully compliant work environment for all employees.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Provide and plan safety training for all employees on various policies, regulations and procedures including, but not limited to, safety practices, fire prevention, personal protective equipment
- Advise the company’s administrative team on safety issues and compliance in specific projects and operations
- Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant safety regulations
- Lead safety team and the creation of policies to avoid workplace injuries
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws, guidelines, and policies
- Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies to institute changes that lead to a safer environment
- Collaborate with employees and managers to identify and mitigate Health and Safety concerns
- Conduct workplace incidents/accidents investigation and Root Cause Analysis
- Maintain SDS (Safety Data Sheets) System and introducing new chemicals or products procedure
- Conduct Phase 1 and Phase 2 new employee safety orientations
- Performs other duties as assigned
Experience and Education Required
- Bachelor's degree required; emphasis on Health and Safety or related field (science, engineering, occupational health) preferred
- Experience with safety regulations preferred in the manufacturing industry
- Ability to lead meetings, collaborate, and train employees
- Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
Technical Skills
- Advanced skill with all MS Office products
- Strong organizational skills
- Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
Additional Expectations
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations for manufacturing
- Solid understanding of Federal, State, Local regulations and Guidelines (OSHA, EPA, DEC, etc.)
- Willingness to continue learning about new safety processes

Salary will be Based on Experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
