Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienist to provide high-quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, taking patient x-rays, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist and dental hygienist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient visits
- Take and develop patient x-rays
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Perform basic dental laboratory procedures, such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate patient records
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure patient comfort throughout their visit
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledge of Dentrix or Eaglesoft software preferred
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and equipment operation
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy and terminology
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Skills:
- Dentrix or Eaglesoft software proficiency
- Medical imaging techniques (x-rays)
- Patient assessment and care
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations for patient privacy protection
