Job Purpose
The Senior Accountant at The Just One Project plays a vital role in supporting our mission to increase access to food, resources, and services for our community. As a key member of our team, you will oversee various accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and contributing to the organization's financial stability and growth.
Responsibilities
- Supervise accounting procedures including Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), bank deposits, month-end closing, and cash management.
- Record daily revenue and monthly GL entries.
- Manage federal grants, ensuring compliance and reconciliation.
- Reconcile credit card payments and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Assist in producing and reviewing monthly financial statements and variance analysis.
- Oversee fixed assets and aid in annual budgeting and forecasting.
- Prepare for annual audits, coordinating with external auditors.
- Maintain documented accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
- Maintain compliance with nonprofit financial laws and guidelines.
- Manage financial databases, records, and systems.
- Provide training and support on financial software and tools.
- Communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders.
- Must attend six mandatory 'Pop Up & Give' events per year
- Any other job duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- 5+ years accounting experience required.
- 2+ years of Non- Profit experience in accounting required.
- Experience with federal grants, fund allocations, and financial reporting.
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulations relevant to nonprofit accounting.
- Ability to work independently, handle changes or unexpected events, and maintain cordial working relationships with administrative personnel, co-workers, service providers, and clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications (i.e.Outlook, Word, etc.).
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online is preferred.

- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
