Job Summary
This position will mainly support the transcribing needs of Eastern State Hospital. The medical transcriptionist will be responsible for transcribing documents, editing back-end speech recognition, validating data on transcribed documents, communicating with staff and physicians, and executing excellent customer service—occasional orthopedic transcription.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
One year of medical transcription in an acute care setting. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word experience and knowledge in using Outlook and 3M. High attention to detail; excellent communication skills (both written & verbal); ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment; and ability to be flexible and to learn new things quickly are also important for this role. Medical transcription, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and medical terminology is essential.
