The Lead Teacher is the leader within the classroom and is responsible for carrying out and ensuring that the classroom operates with the highest standards of educational excellence and quality and offers a safe learning environment. Responsible for teaching students foundational academic, social, and other formative skills at the childcare level, and in accordance with Lightbridge Academy Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
* Coordinates and actively engages in classroom activities.
* Positively communicates with parents and team members.
* Performs a variety of activities that ensures age-appropriate learning.
* Enthusiastically greets and engages parents at drop-off and pick-up times.
* Maintains a positive relationship with parents and co-workers.
* Uploads Lightbridge Journey mealtimes, nap, etc.
* Talks to parents daily about child’s day.
* Creates a soft, calm, safe, and loving environment.
* Carries out the Seedling curriculum, while also using the enhancements.
* Feeds and diapers children as needed. Potty trains children who are ready.
* Actively talks to the children throughout the day.
* Cleans and organizes classroom every day.
* Works cooperatively with coworkers, and administrative team.
* Deliver exceptional customer service to parents by going above and beyond, including assisting parents during arrival and departure, and addressing any other questions and concerns promptly and effectively.
* Implement a philosophy of positive reinforcement and redirection of children’s behavior, in accordance with Lightbridge Academy’s Discipline Policy.
*Supervise children during daily outdoor recess.
* Ensure proper staff/child ratio as set by the state licensing entity.
* Participate in required trainings and meetings, and travel to off-site trainings as needed.
* Supervise by sight and sound.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
* Child Development Associate (CDA), or Associates Degree in education or related field; Bachelors Degree in education or related field is preferred.
* Minimum of one (1) year of child care experience, classroom experience preferred.
* Maintain continuing education requirements per company and state requirements.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
