Authentic Life Clinical Counseling & Wellness (ALCCW) is a rapidly growing private practice. We offer the luxury of the private practice model with bigger agency benefits. We currently have 2 locations. Our first location is on the historic Independence Square, in Missouri. Our second location is in Kansas City, MO (64133).
ALCCW is looking for highly motivated psychotherapists for both locations, with experience working with children, adolescents, and/or adults. We have many opportunities for applicants who want to either branch out into private practice and stay part time, or transition into a full-time case load (25 or more clients). The ideal candidate will be fully licensed as an independent practitioner. We will assist with insurance credentialing, intake processes, scheduling, and billing so you can relax and be a therapist. We provide everything you need to do your job effectively. Position Summary
The Psychotherapist diagnoses and treats mental and emotional disorders whether cognitive, affective, or behavioral, within the context of private practice. This position is responsible for applying psychotherapeutic techniques to address client needs/goals, using the candidates preferred treatment modality such as DBT, CBT, ACT, EMDR, SFT etc...
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Interact positively with patients and staff.
- Display professionalism and timeliness.
- Work with clients in a safe and reassuring way.
- Treat clients and staff in a way that respects their human dignity.
- Have knowledge of psychiatric conditions and complete initial biopsychosocial assessment.
- Diagnose, develop, and implement updated treatment plans/discharge summaries.
- Complete progress notes in a timely fashion.
- Ask questions that will help clients identify their feelings and behaviors.
- Encourage individuals to develop and use constructive skills and strategies for confronting problems.
- Maintain case files that include activities, progress notes, evaluations, and recommendations.
- Collect client information using techniques such as testing, interviewing, discussion, or observation.
- Confer with clients to develop plans for posttreatment activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Master's degree in psychology or one of the social sciences required; Graduate degree, Counseling, or Clinical Social Work with an emphasis on Psychotherapy preferred
- Must hold an active license to practice in the state of Missouri
- Previous experience in social work, psychology and/or counseling preferred
- Counselling skills including active listening and a non-judgmental approach
- Knowledge and understanding of psychology techniques
- Ability to understand people’s reactions with sensitivity and understanding
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to be patient and to remain calm in stressful situations
- Ability to be skeptical as well as insightful to see through the layers of clients' defenses and set therapeutic goals
