The Onsite Medical Professional (OMP) will serve as the site’s medical professional. The OMP will provide first aid treatment to injured employees, administer drug tests, participate in the workers’ compensation process and take an active part in the onsite wellness programs. The OMP will play an integral role in the safety team onsite, helping to provide assistance with all of the safety and health needs.
The Onsite Medical Professional reports to the assigned supervisor. In the absence of a supervisor the position will report to the Medical Services Manager and/or the Assistant Medical Services Manager.
Onsite Medical Professional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Patient Care
- Rendering care to injured/ill workers as necessary in accordance with organizational standing orders.
- Determining if first aid is adequate or if transport to a physician, ER, or trauma center is needed. Coordinate transport as needed (911).
- Coordinate return to work of injured workers.
- Following up, as required, with patients and physicians. Provide regular reports on patient health status.
- Provide patient education pertaining to disease progression and relevant therapies.
- Participate with contracted disability management vendors to assure client progression.
- Advocate with other case managers and other service providers on behalf of workers.
- Collect urine drug, saliva, and breath alcohol tests following chain of custody.
- Performing emergency skills, such as managing respiratory, trauma, cardiac emergencies,and patient assessments, in a timely and effective manner.
- Providing routine information related to medical treatments and procedures
- Measuring and recording vital signs, collecting specimens, and escorting patients to
- treatment facilities as needed
- Documenting and recording all patient interactions and care provided
- Participating in and/or conducting “man - down” drills in the field
- Regularly pushing, pulling and/or lifting up to 50 lbs.
Clinic Operations
- Maintain all records on employees seeking and given treatment.
- Maintain all safety records to include accident reports.
- Frequent site walks to interact with employees and contractors.
- Conducting record keeping, filing, data entry as required by the project, other than patient or treatment related records.
- Maintaining comfortable, orderly, safe and clean environments
- Assisting with special projects as assigned
Teamwork and Cooperation
- Maintaining relationships with medical providers, trade partners, and clients
- Act as liaison between employees, employer, insurance company, and medical service providers.
- Working with supervisors in the area of patient medical needs and filing supervisor’s accident reports.
- Advising and/or assisting supervisors in conducting investigation of accidents.
- Supports and encourages team members’ successes.
- Demonstrates awareness of the needs of the overall site environment and steps in when necessary to support the team.

Qualifications
- A valid National Registry or State issued EMT-B Certification or higher
- Current and valid CPR card.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in electronic health records software, email, word processing, spreadsheets, and internet based applications.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Flexible hours required, including some evenings and weekends.
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screen.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk;use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop,kneel, crouch, or crawl, occasionally in very small spaces; talk or hear and taste or smell
- Must be able to pass a medical fitness review if requested
- Experience working on a construction site preferred
