As a Senior Health and Safety Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety for our employees and compliance with environmental regulations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing HSE programs, conducting risk assessments, and driving continuous improvement in HSE performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly.
- Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals.
- Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
- Serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies.
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Works under immediate supervision of the Torrance HSE&F Manager.
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of directly related experience in Safety practice
- Strong experience with occupational health and safety/injury and illness prevention
WE VALUE:
- Certifications in safety and/or industrial hygiene (CIH or CSP)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Safety, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline
- Master’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety
- Experience in Aerospace or Manufacturing
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience with environmental programs (Title V, Storm Water, Waste Water, EPCRA Emergency Planning & Community Right to Know Act)
- Experience with OSHA safety regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access and Visio
