Position Summary
The Manager of Product Management owns the vision and strategy, road map, and product lifecycle for
Neptune’s portfolio of metering products. Leading a team of Product Managers, this individual drives
successful delivery of products in partnership with the Engineering Development & Operations teams
through the project lifecycle. He or she represents the metering portfolio with leadership, product
marketing, sales, engineering, and other functional groups to execute product strategy. In collaboration
with Product Marketing, she or he gathers requirements with a focus on Voice of the Customer, assuring
alignment with portfolio strategy and industry direction.
Objectives:
Product Strategy - Working together with the Director of Product Strategy, this individual will develop &
manage the product road map, facilitate make vs buy decisions and manage product partners. Together
with the other product teams, and in partnership with the Engineering and Software Development
teams, he or she will ensure seamless integration of problem oriented features across the end to end
solution, from the meter, through the system to the software platform. Establishes the cadence and
leads the development of the product roadmap and vision, working closely with Product Marketing,
Engineering, Sales and Customer Experience to ensure that the metering products support the
company’s overall strategy as well as profitability and customer satisfaction goals.
Product Requirements – Working together with Product Marketing tracks overall market and
competitive dynamics, acts as intermediary between the market and the organization, representing the
business requirements and defining product features that will lead the product team to make informed
business decisions. Understands what user’s need (the problem) and leads his/her team in the
definition of product features that solve those business problems.
Product Team Leadership - Responsible for the success of the product team and their ability to
maximize the output of the development team. Day to day leadership of Product Managers to ensure
requirements are aligned to product strategy and vision and reflect business needs, while collaborating
with the Engineering team to ensure executable requirements. Works closely with business
stakeholders, product/project managers, and technical teams to understand, analyze, refine, prioritize,
and communicate needs to ensure full understanding of project scope, objectives, and requirements.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Science or Business.
Experience: 7+ years of related experience. Water/Utility Industry experience is a plus.
Pragmatic Marketing Certification is a plus.
Skills:
Requires specialized skill set and proficiency in software product development
processes in an Agile environment. Leadership, sales support, project
management and training skills. Analytical mind and strong quantitative and
problem solving skills. Positive attitude and high energy, creativity and strong
learning ability. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal
and written).
Location: Duluth, GA
20-50% Travel Required.
