Little Explorers Learning Academy is a new and growing Child Care business in Pittsburgh, PA. We are innovative, creative, and fun, and our mission is to create an engaging and exciting learning environment for children to grow through exploration, hands-on learning, and discovery.

As the Director, you oversee the center's day-to-day operations while inspiring the teachers to create high-quality programming in each classroom.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the center. Ensures the facility is a safe and fun place for children to learn.
- Assures staff is competent, caring, and qualified to work with designated age group.
- Maintains state licensing regulations and requirements of other quality programs such as Keystone STARS, NAEYC, etc.
- Establishes communication system and development of team work.
- Provides creative, age-appropriate programs to all children served at the academy.
- Actively develops and maintains positive customer/community relations.
- Prepares payroll and status reports.
- Conducts regular staff meetings and on-going trainings.
- Establishes strong working relationships with state licensing authorities.
- Prepares tuition bills and collects payments.
- Oversees child supervision of entire school.
- Consults with teachers regarding any difficulties in meeting certain children's needs, parent and/or guardian complaints, or concerns.
- Conducts tours of the facility on an as-needed basis.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises around 15 employees. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education/Experience: Four year degree in early childhood development is preferred. Four year degree in a human service field may be accepted. Minimum of an Associate's degree in child development, education, or a human services field required. Four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of emergent/exploratory-based curriculum and/or the Montessori approach strongly preferred. Experience with Keystone STARS and/or NAEYC accreditation strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities: Leadership, management, interpersonal communication, oral and written communication, professionalism, compassion, patience, and problem solving skills.
