OVERVIEW
This job requires military service with a contract for enlistment or commission. This is not an application to a specific position within the military. This job is only an example of a position that you could be placed in after taking the job placement exam. You will choose your job based on your placement exam score.
Enlistment requires you speaking to a recruiter, background screening, taking a job placement exam, completing a physical exam, choosing from the career options that you qualify for, signing a career contract, taking the oath of enlistment, attending basic training and attending your job training.
Active Duty: Full-time Soldiers enlisting in the United States Army Active Duty are afforded the opportunity to travel the world and do your job. The Army will provide benefits for you and your family (see below all benefits). While on Active duty you are required to work M-F, typically off on weekends and holidays with pay.
Army Reserves: Part-time Soldier enlisting into the United States Army Reserves means that you will become a member of a Reserve unit in your local area. So traveling to and from your unit will not be a hassle. Your commitment will be to attend training at your unit only one weekend a month and two weeks out of the year (Usually during summer as to not interfere with college courses). You will also be given government stamped documentation every time you attend training to provide to your employer to excuse you from work without you ever having to use sick time or vacation time.
TRAINING
Job training requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and depending on the job of choice is how long the Job Training will be. Each job training is different. The Army is one of the only branches that allows YOU TO CHOOSE YOUR JOB!!
