JOB DESCRIPTION
Descriptive Summary
THIS POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PURCHASE AND MANAGEMENT OF FRAMING LUMBER AND SPECIALITY WOOD PRODUCTS. RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING INVENTORY AND PROCESSING PURCHASE ORDERS. RESPONSIBLE FOR NEGOTIATING BEST PRICES AND DEVELOPING STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH LUMBER MILL CONTACTS AND CUSTOMERS.
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Manage inventory of purchased lumber and specialty wood products and ensure stock levels are kept at appropriate levels, quality, research sales and purchasing markets, establish purchased and selling pricing, negotiate with the mills, forecast the needs of the business, make purchase decisions based on demand, maximize customer service, be analytically minded, and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices, maintain price lists, manage margins, turns, and work closely with the sales group.

- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (a plus)
- Minimum 3 -5 years Lumber purchasing experience
- Excellent computer skills (excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
