As part of CIEF partnership with the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange, this position requires a dynamic and detail-oriented individual, reports to the Senior Programs and Events Manager of CIEF, and works to effectively promote and coordinate the industry related programs and events of the organization. This position will also provide support to youth workforce events related to CIEF’s work. The ideal candidate will be able to work with and evaluate vendors, provide administrative support to the department, manage communications with attendees, speakers, sponsors, and stakeholders creating lasting memories and relationships with all involved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Organize, plan, and provide administrative support to the Senior Programs and Events Manager for the Women in Construction Conference and NEXT Young Professional events and industry events including the annual Crab Feed, Harvest Fest/Fall BBQ, Bourbon and Builders, Speaker Series, Golf Tournament, Clay Shoots, Board Retreats, and member and volunteer appreciation events
- Coordinate equipment transport and setup/takedown at events
- Coordinate accommodations and travel for staff and program/event speakers
- Coordinate volunteer support for programs and events
- Pick up and delivery of supplies for event needs
- Coordinate physical room set up and logistical needs for programs, events, classes, and meetings including catering, signage, and supplies
- Serve as a contact for third-party rentals including marketing, contracts, and day of support
- Provide planning and/or day of support to youth workforce programs including Trades Days and the Northern California Design Build Competition
- Uphold CIEF’s mission and vision with every event
- Outreach to the construction industry to increase visibility and support of programs and events
- Develop content for event materials in coordination with the Digital Marketing & Communications Manager and edit event flyers, signage, website, and newsletters as needed
- Assume other job roles as needed
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Understand non-profit organizations
- A minimum of one-year event planning, coordination, or support experience (preferable, but not required)
- Proven track record of creative, successful events in a staff or volunteer capacity
- Experience working with a customer relationship management (CRM) or association management system (AMS)
- Experience working with the construction industry (preferable, but not required)
- Understanding and knowledge of working with committees and volunteers
- Availability for same-day travel and occasional overnight travel
- Knowledge of Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn)
- Strong communication skills (virtual, phone, and in-person)
- Strong inter-personal and organizational skills
- Ability to lift/move items up to 40 pounds
This is a full-time position with supplemental benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and a 401k savings program. The anticipated salary is $50,000.
