The Radiologic Technologist plays a crucial role in producing high-quality radiographs essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning, utilizing advanced medical imaging equipment. Operating within strict safety protocols, they prioritize patient care while ensuring adherence to Radiation Safety and ALARA policies and regulations to minimize radiation exposure.
Responsibilities:
- Operating Medical Imaging Equipment: Proficiently operates x-ray equipment for various examinations, ensuring readiness of examination rooms and optimizing techniques for accurate imaging.
- Patient Care and Safety: Provides compassionate care, positioning and immobilizing patients for optimal imaging while addressing concerns to enhance cooperation.
- Communication and Collaboration: Maintains clear communication with hospital staff, physicians, and patients to coordinate examinations and ensure timely results delivery while adhering to identification and documentation policies.
- Image Processing and Documentation: Reviews images promptly for quality, entering patient information accurately into PACS for accessibility by healthcare providers.
- Equipment Maintenance and Safety: Monitors equipment performance, reporting malfunctions promptly, and strictly adheres to radiation safety practices to minimize risks.
- Behavioral Health Patient Supervision: Provides continuous supervision during procedures, employing non-violent crisis intervention strategies as needed to ensure safety.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- General x-ray license from the State of Florida – maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
- American Heart Association BLS - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
- Crisis Prevention Institute(CPI) required within 90 days of hire (existing staff must obtain by 12/31/2018) - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) – in good standing throughout employment highly preferred.
- Graduate of AMA Accredited School of Radiology Technology preferred.
- Able to relate cooperatively and constructively with patients, families, and co-workers.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to problem solve and adapt standard clinical procedures to the individual client's need.
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and react calmly under stressful conditions.
