Rate of Pay: $38.00/hour + DOE
Summary
Supervises daily activities of the assigned teams within the Patient Access Department. Ensures staff complete work with accuracy, excellent customer service, and safety. Plans and coordinates staffing, assignments, projects, training, support, and objectives to set teams up for success. Optimizes workflows and training to ensure efficiency and quality within the Revenue Cycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises day-to-day operations of assigned teams ensuring that workflows, schedules and processes are effective and produce desired results.
- Maintains professional and effective communications with all TFHS staff.
- Ensures team leads coordinate shift assignments of Registration staff. Ensures duties are accomplished in absence of team leads.
- Develops, promotes and monitors excellence in the delivery of customer service.
- Contributes to initial probationary and annual performance evaluations as assigned.
- Participates in hiring, coaching and counseling of staff.
- Participates in Process Improvement programs as requested.
- Oversees supply inventory and ordering for the department.
- Assumes responsibility for department functions in the absence of the Director.
- Develops and maintains employee work schedules ensuring that adequate coverage is provided at all times. If necessary, works shifts not covered by staff.
- Provides input to department annual operating and capital budget planning.
- Performs all essential job duties of assigned staff as needed.
- Provides clear and complete direction, both in written and verbal communications to staff in order to provide them with clear expectations.
- Requires that employees are accountable for accurate and timely completion of their job duties.
- Completes daily cash deposits and ensures proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Ensures Patient Access Training and Quality Assurance Program is effective, consistent, engaging, and in alignment with department standards.
- Monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in the form of scorecards identifying trends and outliers.
- Maintains industry standard registration and training knowledge. Implements new strategies as needed.
- Supports team in acting as registration Electronic Health Record (EHR) subject matter experts for the District.
- Supports team in registration account corrections.
- Compiles statistical reports as requested.
- Works with other departments to accomplish shared goals as needed including training, quality assurance, reporting, and Process Improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibility in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; administering scheduling systems; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; enforcing policies and procedures.
Required Licenses/Certifications
BLS: Employee will be enrolled in the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Basic Life Support (BLS) Entry or Prep Curriculum (depending on their previous BLS certification). - Within 6 months of hire into job
Other Experience/Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare environment, preferably in Patient Access.
- Minimum 1 year of Supervisory or Lead experience.
Preferred:
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Healthcare Access Manager
(CHAM)
- EPIC experience
