St. Johns Classical Academy - Fleming Island Campus is looking for an ESE support facilitator/ESE teacher for the 2024/2025 school year (10-month).

Summary
The ESE support facilitator/ESE teacher works under the ESE Department Head and is responsible directly to the Upper School Principal. He/she provides for the instruction, supervision, and evaluation of assigned scholars as noted in their Individual Education Plans (IEP). He/she supports both general education and ESE teachers who instruct ESE scholars.
Required Qualifications:
●Currently possess, or eligibility to receive a valid Florida Educator’s Certificate in Exceptional Student Education.
● Master’s or bachelor's from an accredited educational institution.
● Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching in ESE or in an inclusion setting.
Desired Qualifications:
●Experience with implementing interventions, specially designed instruction, and accommodations in a classical education setting.
● Additional professional preparation beyond undergraduate degree.
● Five (5) or more years of teaching experience.
● FLDOE Reading Endorsement or equivalent.
Responsibilities and duties of this position include:
● Provides support for ESE scholars’ achievement in a classical general education setting through specially designed instruction (SDI), consultation and collaboration for scholars with specific learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Emotional/Behavior Disorders, Other Health Impairments, etc.
● Consults and assists general education teachers and ESE scholars daily. Uses specially designed instructional strategies that work within the classical curriculum/instructional model.
Responsibilities and duties of this position include, continued:
● Provides the level and frequency of support based upon scholars’ need for specially designed instruction, as detailed in the IEP.
● Can serve as ESE Local Education Agency (LEA) Designee and as a member of IEP meetings.
● Provides small group instruction to ESE scholars in general classes based upon student need.
● Participates in required local, state, and federal training regarding policies, procedures, and best practices according to applicable state and federal special education law.
● Collects data based on the goals of scholars’ IEP to meet the requirements for federal, state and local laws and policies.
● Ensures that documentation of all services and accommodations included in the scholars’ IEP are completed to meet the requirements for federal, state, and local laws and policies.
● Responsible for keeping an SDI log of all specially designed instruction given in the general education classroom and/or resource room.
● Assists academic advisor with testing accommodations for scholars with disabilities, and assists, as needed, with proctoring state/district/SAT/ACT/AP testing.
● Other necessary duties as directed by the Upper School Principal, Grammar School Principal and/or Headmaster.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Noise levels may rise during periods of high scholar traffic.

- The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds in supplies which require bending, stooping, and lifting.

- The employee will escort scholars around campus.
- The employee must have normal vision and hearing with or without aid.
- The employee must be able to move about assigned locations unaided during the workday.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical workdays and hours of work are Monday through Friday from 7:10 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
Travel
Some travel may be expected for this position.
