Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during patient procedures and providing exceptional patient care. Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures, ensuring cleanliness and organization
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and retracting tissues
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform dental charting and record patient information accurately
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following infection control protocols
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order new supplies as needed
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
Skills:
- Proficient in Dentrix, Epic, or other dental practice management software
- Knowledge of medical coding for dental procedures
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy and terminology
- Familiarity with Eaglesoft or other electronic health record systems
- Experience with CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions is a plus
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and record patient information
- Knowledge of infection control protocols in a dental setting
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist is beneficial
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients
