DESCRIPTION
We seek paraprofessionals who believe that supporting classroom instruction is a calling and not a job. Paraprofessional should appreciate the energy of elementary school boys, and be committed to helping develop strong, scholarly young men of character and discipline.
Paraprofessional assist teachers in helping young scholars become critical thinkers and innovative problem solvers. Play and movement will be learning tools. Paraprofessionals will work closely with teachers in all subject areas to inspire collaboration and creativity. Paras will assist administrators and other team members in providing a quality instructional program to continuously improve scholar achievement.
Specific Responsibilities: In collaboration with instructional team, faculty members will
- Effectively observes assigned work hours
- Maintain a pattern of prompt and regular attendance
- Adjust to work assignments and/or schedule changes
- Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced and outlined by the teacher
- Provide extra assistance to students with exceptionalities, such as non-English-speaking students or those with physical and/or mental disabilities, and 504 Plans
- Assist the supervising teacher in supporting scholars with special needs in an integrated setting, as determined by the IEP team
- Assist the teacher in preparing materials and equipment for direct instructional activity, including locating, copying, collating, distributing and/or grouping materials
- Assist identified students with transporting materials or supplies as needed
- Assist identified students with specific personal and physical needs
- Assist with bulletin boards and decorations for instructional purposes or special events
- Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips
- Perform assigned non-instructional classroom duties, such as snack time, toileting, class change and clothing routines
- Serve as a source of information and assist any substitute teacher assigned to the class
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required
- Demonstrate ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in school environment and community
- Participate in professional learning activities which align with school improvement goals
- Participate in staff development opportunities provided by the district
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree OR Paraprofessional Certification
- Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Special Education experience

Pay: $26,707.00 - $37,703.00 per year
