We are a private ophthalmology practice seeking a friendly, reliable, and highly motivated person to join our team as BOTH an ophthalmic technician and front desk assistant. COA or COT certification preferred with at least 1 year of ophthalmic experience, but also willing to train the right person. Punctuality, ability to multitask, strong organizational skills, ability to work in a team environment is desired. We are fully paperless, with both electronic medical records and scheduling/billing systems. Must have excellent computer skills. Hours are flexible.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Obtaining complete patient medical histories
- Performing visual acuity testing, OCT, visual field testing, A-scan/biometry, topography, fundus photos, etc.
- Sterilizing and maintaining equipment & rooms using proper sterile techniques
- Assisting in minor surgery
- Surgery scheduling
- Maintaining accurate patient information in the EMR
- Maintaining patient confidentiality
- Returning phone calls to patients and pharmacies
- Answering and managing phones
- Scheduling appointments
- Collecting and verifying insurance information
- Registering and checking-in patients
- Collecting payments

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
