PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Fiscal Compliance Manager will be a key member of the finance team. This role will collaborate with team members to prepare grant reimbursements, fiscal reports, and support fiscal grant compliance.
KEY ROLES:
1. Work with teams on financial audit plans, audit results, and reporting to the Executive Team.
2. Strengthen accuracy, controls, and procedures for Grant and the subsequent reporting.
3. Assist with organizational planning and development of operating and fund account budgets, and control expenditures against budget.
4. Assist with maintaining financial records and recordkeeping systems to ensure compliance with all regulations, generally accepted accounting practices and contractual requirements.
5. Review coding expenses related to specific grants using fund accounting practices.
6. Remains current on new legislation and regulatory rulings impacting accounting practices and advises management on required actions.
7. Review coding and assist with entering and tracking data into the financial accounting system.
8. Prepares budgets for grant applications in alignment with the organizational budget.
9. Reviews grant budgets and makes recommendations and requests to grantors concerning budget revisions to ensure optimal utilization of the funds awarded.
10. Prepares and submits grant reimbursement requests.
11. Coordinates, prepares and submits grant reports.
12. Ensures that recorded expenses correlate to grant budget application guidelines and confirms that general ledger records reflect accurate fund accounting by grant, department, and program.
13. Provides monthly financial grant report(s) as needed.
14. Maintains files of all grant-related records and correspondence.
15. Create and implement processes to ensure Clubs are on track to meet all grant requirements and outcomes.
16. Monitors grant receivables.
17. Prepares closeout reports.
18. Maintains collaborative, working relationships with funders.
19. Assist the team in executing grant contracts and calendaring key financial milestones.
20. Supports funder site visits and financial audits, as needed.
21. Actively participates in mandatory grant management training, remotely and in-person as required.
22. Ensure a productive work environment that encourages positive, effective working relationships and open communication, respectful of the gender and cultural diversity of Club staff, volunteers, and members.
23. Conduct other duties as assigned by the Chief Accounting Officer.
RELATIONSHIPS
· Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with staff and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel. Work with internal staff, recruit and supervise interns as needed.
· External: Represent BGCMC effectively at all functions. Maintain contact and build relationships with community organizations and external staff to assist in mission advancement and to identify potential program partners.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
· Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business with compliance experience in a multi-divisional organization with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
· Analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work and interact with various departments within the organization.
· Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and other Office applications and familiar with accounting software packages such as NetSuite, Sage, Paycom, or ADP.
· Prior experience in a non-profit environment preferred.
