The Estes Lab at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Research Technician II. This laboratory performs basic and clinical research related to gastrointestinal (GI) virus replication, cell-host interactions and pathogenesis. A new project is continuing to develop human stem-cell derived organoid cultures as biomimetics to dissect host-virus interactions and identify new targets for drug development. This Research Technician will be heavily involved in the organoid projects with two GI viruses, human rotavirus and norovirus, but will also support Postdoctoral Fellows and Graduate Students in their focused molecular biology experimental research projects. The Research Technician will also assist in the running and organization of the lab and perform a variety of experimental techniques under general supervision.
