Overview
DLH is seeking a Research Assistant to serve on a multi-disciplinary team that conducts data collection and analysis for population-based epidemiological studies on behalf of the federal government. These studies focus on the impact of military deployment and occupational and lifestyle risk factors on the health and well-being of service members, their spouses, and their dependents. This position is part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes project managers, study coordinators, data analysts, epidemiologists, and data collection staff. Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support and coordination during all phases of a project life cycle
- Move projects towards completion by performing project and administration tasks, which include scheduling meetings, file management, data collection, report creation, proofreading, and coordinating and maintaining project deliverables
- Schedule, facilitate, and participate in meetings and teleconference calls; prepare agendas, take notes, and draft summaries of issues and action items from the discussion
- Collaborate with contract and project managers to aid in the development of timelines and budgets
- Develop and maintain task lists within and across projects
- Assist with participant recruitment and retention, including placing ads, distributing flyers, posting to social media, and identifying recruitment partners
- Receive and respond to participant communications through telephone calls, mailings, and emails; monitor group email inboxes and disseminate information appropriately or follow up as needed
- Develop and maintain study documents, file structures, study records, and data systems
- Assist with the development and maintenance study operation procedures, training manuals, job aids and other materials for primary data collection
- Support the preparations of reports and presentations for internal leadership and clients
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in public health, social science, or related field
- 1-year minimum work experience in human studies research
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
