Position Title: Marketing Writer (Part Time)

Pioneer Utility Resources and its communications subsidiaries work to support the efforts of rural electric and telecommunications companies across the U.S. as they engage with their communities.
We are hiring a remote, part-time marketing writer for 20 hours per week. In this position, you will be responsible for translating a marketing strategy into print projects, press releases, social media posts and more. Versatility and breadth of expertise is important. In a given week, you may help script video productions, write taglines or pitch in on feature-length stories. As your knowledge of our industry grows, you’ll lend your voice in client marketing strategy meetings and help craft messages that lead to successful campaigns.
We are looking for someone able to prioritize smartly, remain organized, and juggle multiple priorities throughout a given part-time workweek. You enjoy that sense of satisfaction that comes when a project is marked “complete,” but you won’t shortcut creative thinking to get there. You’re motivated by knowing not only that the is client happy, but also that the rest of the creative team, including our graphic designers, were able to run with your writing and use their skills to create something truly impactful.
Responsibilities
· Collaborate with team members to develop campaign themes and messaging.
· Generate compelling copy that helps clients meet their goals.
· Consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Learn our system for receiving and posting assignments, tracking time, etc.
· Learn your client’s preferences to deliver a custom message for their audience.
· Help analyze campaign success and troubleshoot problems when they arise.
· Continually learn about our industries, the challenges they face, and the quickly changing Electric and Broadband landscapes.
· Engage in periodic client meetings to collaborate on strategic planning, provide valuable insights, and develop captivating messages to drive successful campaign outcomes.
· Occasionally, may be tasked with conducting interviews with subject matter experts, to craft compelling and impactful messages.
· Attend weekly thought leadership initiatives.

· Low supervision requirements. You’re a self starter who doesn’t need to be pressured to do great work, on time.
· Experience in marketing or communications roles preferred, with a passion for driving broadband adoption and supporting rural communities.
· A sense of humor and grace, which makes you an excellent collaborator.

Required
· Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field preferred
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing writing, content creation, or related roles
· Experience may be substituted for higher education (if applicable).

Additional Notes
1. Compensation will be dependent on a variety of factors including experience and geography, and will be discussed in the hiring process with leading candidate(s). The anticipated compensation range is $16.50-$19.00/hour.

Retirement Benefits:
Subject to other eligibility requirements, employees working 20 hours or more per week are generally eligible for our 401(k) retirement program through Vanguard beginning with the first of the month after six months of employment.

· The scheduled hours for this position are not anticipated to achieve eligibility for medical benefits.
· So long as your scheduled work hours remain at or above 20 per week, your eligibility to join our dental and vision coverages begins the first of the month after your start date.

Pioneer provides full time staff with 12 paid holidays per year (all federal holidays plus the day after Thanksgiving), and a PTO plan that starts at an accrual rate of four weeks per year. .
