Position Summary: The Agile Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading agile project management activities. This role includes planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. The Agile Project Manager will also coordinate the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Initiation and Planning
- Define project scope, goals, and objectives.
- Identify stakeholders and establish communication channels.
- Create a high-level project schedule and backlog.
- Use and improve upon the current IT Intake process and PMO Playbook.
- Utilize Azure DevOps (or related tools) to track information daily.
- Deliverables: Comprehensive project initiation and planning document, updated IT Intake process, and PMO Playbook.
Agile Methodology Implementation
- Assist various IT sections with Agile transformation including working agreements and training.
- Deliverables: Agile transformation progress report and training materials.
Backlog Management
- Prioritize and groom backlog items.
- Collaborate with teams to break down user stories into actionable tasks and estimate them using story points.
- Deliverables: Prioritized backlog and user stories with estimates.
Sprint Planning
- Plan sprint goals and select backlog items for the upcoming sprint.
- Define acceptance criteria for user stories.
- Estimate the capacity of development teams for the sprint and assess LOE (Level of Effort) estimates from software developers.
- Deliverables: Sprint plan and acceptance criteria documentation.
Daily Standups
- Conduct daily standup meetings to review progress, identify blockers, and ensure items are documented in Azure DevOps.
- Escalate project issues to customer staff or customer CIO as needed.
- Deliverables: Daily standup meeting records and issue escalation reports through Azure DevOps.
Project Reporting and Metrics
- Implement and maintain portfolio reporting tools like OnePlan.
- Develop and maintain portfolio-level and project-level reporting using tools such as OnePlan and Azure DevOps.
- Update and maintain project management data using Azure DevOps and other systems of record in the ITB.
- Define, develop, and provide monthly PMO support data and metrics for projects, programs, and the portfolio.
- Maintain a staffing plan of resource assignments for all projects, programs, and the portfolio.
- Create executive summaries and dashboard reports.
- Provide Information Technology Advisory Council (ITAC) meeting support for projects.
- Deliverables: Monthly reports, staffing plan, executive summaries, and meeting support documentation.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in agile project management and methodologies.
- Strong expertise in using Azure DevOps or similar tools for project tracking and management.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Agile certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP) is highly preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
The projected compensation range for this position is $160,375 to $190,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
