Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Staff Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring timely and accurate payments. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with both internal teams and external vendors.
- Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
- Prepare and execute electronic payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
- Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain vendor files and ensure all necessary documentation is obtained and filed.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies or issues.
- Monitor accounts payable aging reports and take appropriate action to resolve outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Develop and implement accounts payable policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.
- Provide regular updates on accounts payable status to management.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline accounts payable processes.
- Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing accounts payable practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
