Position Summary
To produce quality components through either powder or wet paint processes to obtain required finish.
Shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm Monday - Friday

Duties
- Operate Manual paint equipment and/or automated paint system, Record program settings in controllers, maintain records for paint inventory and daily operating parameters.
- Read and interpret travelers and blueprints and other working documents.
- Record activity (number of parts and elapse times) on the Shop Floor Control System.
- Produce quality components that meet all finish requirements as determined by Engineering by measuring paint thickness and visually inspecting parts.
- Remain safety conscious at all times, wearing all prescribed safety equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing job and observing all safety rules stated in the Employee Handbook.
- Immediately report to your Supervisor any problems, discrepancies and/or irregularities related to job assignment.
- Keep paint equipment and work area clean, neat and orderly on an ongoing and daily basis using 5S standards.
- Complete any and all projects, assignments and duties as directed and instructed.
- Conform to all policies, procedures and rules of conduct as communicated through the Employee handbook, Bulletin Boards, Newsletters and any other vehicle by which information is distributed by STERIS Management.
- Meet pulmonary standards; pass annual testing requirements.
- Lift and carry 30-40 lbs of materials periodically (4-7 times) during shift.
- Be able to perform the Material Prep position as a fill in for absenteeism.
- Participate in prioritization of work flow for efficiency and to meet scheduled demand.
Education Degree
- High School Diploma or GED
Required Experience
- High school graduate or GED required
Preferred Experience
- Computer Skills to include Microsoft Office, Shop Floor Control and AS400 preferred.
- Two years prior paint experience preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry 30-40 lbs of materials periodically (4-7 times) during shift.
- Ability to make decisions and stay quality focused
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and members of the leadership team
- Assist with training other operators.

- Willingness to work overtime, if required.
- Knowledge, understanding and application of Lean Manufacturing tools, such as, 5S, Kanban Inventory,
- Visual Management, Waste elimination, and Root Cause Problem Solving are preferred.

Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
