Full-Time Bookkeeper/Office Manager needed for New York Professional Nurses Union located on the east side of midtown NYC.
Duties include bookkeeping, payroll & benefits administration, supporting the Executive Director's and Treasurer's directives to manage financial accounts, office management, some occasional event planning and/or arrangements coordination. This position reports to the Executive Director. The position is largely 9 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday. Work is largely onsite, but some limited ad hoc remote work is possible.
This role is perfect for someone with a strong bookkeeping acumen coupled with an interest in administration. Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and enjoy accounting. Role requires critical thinking, logistical problem-solving, and making the arrangements for anticipated needs. Must be able to multi-task, switch gears on the fly and roll up your sleeves when needed. The job requires bookkeeping, recordkeeping, bank reconciliation, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, compiling and analyzing data, and meticulous follow-through.
Specific Duties:

Create quarterly financial reports using QuickBooks

Administer payroll and benefits

Manage financial accounts

Support bank reconciliation with Treasurer

Create budgetary and quarterly financial reports

Reconcile receipts on monthly basis

Sometimes will be responsible to answer and direct incoming calls to staff

Liaison to vendors and landlord

Manage RFP process as needed

Manage stock of office supplies

Inventory management

Oversee basic office upkeep

Occasional event planning: arrange catering, event planning and logistics

Support archive management
Qualifications:

Minimum of two years' bookkeeping experience. Familiarity with QuickBooks and/or Paychex preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel.

Familiarity with web-based office suite: Google docs, forms, spreadsheets, presentations

Experience keeping e-filing system

Minimum of 1 years' experience supporting an office with administrative and clerical work.
Compensation: Annual full-time salary range of $70,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience and an excellent benefits package including health insurance with no monthly contributions.
