Position Summary:
We are a Home Infusion Therapy Pharmacy looking for a Director of Nursing. We are a fast-paced Home Infusion Therapy Pharmacy looking for a Director who is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of nursing services within the healthcare organization. This includes ensuring the highest quality of patient care, enhancing operational efficiency, fostering a positive work environment for nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The HIT Director of Nursing collaborates with other executive leaders to support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for nursing services.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Field Supervisory Nurse.
- Participate in the development of the organization's overall strategic plan.
Quality and Patient Safety
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes and enhance patient safety.
- Oversee the development and implementation of evidence-based nursing practices.
Staff Management and Development:
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes professional growth and job satisfaction.
- Implement effective staff education and training programs.
- Ensure that the professional standards of community nursing practice are maintained by all nurses providing care.
Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of nursing services.
- Ensure efficient and effective resource utilization.
- Maintain and adhere to agency procedure and patient care policy manuals
Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Prepare for and lead regulatory and accreditation surveys.
- Act as organization’s Compliance Officer
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with other members of the leadership team to achieve organizational goals; ie billing dept, Performance Improvement Coordinator
- Facilitate effective communication between nursing staff and other departments.
- Collaborate with pharmacy regarding patient safety
Innovation and Improvement:
- Lead initiatives to innovate and improve nursing practices and processes.
- Stay current with trends and advancements in nursing and healthcare.
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in nursing (MSN), Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD in Nursing preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of nursing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in the state of Illinois. Licensing in Michigan will be required and can be applied for upon hire. Certification in Nursing Administration (NE-BC, NEA-BC) preferred.
