JOB SUMMARY
The Multicraft Maintenance Technician performs process and production maintenance throughout the facilities. Multicraft Maintenance includes, but not be limited to machine breakdowns, installation and startups, process improvements, preventative maintenance programs and continuous machine improvements, increasing machine reliability and installation of facility capital investments.
Responsibilities include electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, plumbing, equipment rebuilding, and mechanical fabrication, reading electrical and mechanical prints, and setting up precision instrumentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs packaging lines:

Electrical
-
Installs and repairs electrical systems, electric apparatus and components on industrial process machinery and equipment.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, motors, rectifiers, instrumentation, wiring, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches and motors and positions sensing devices.

Install new wiring for sensors, valves, actuators, and other electrical devices used for machine and process control.

Troubleshoots machine controls utilizing a PLC, servo, stepper, and basic relay logic controls.
- Mechanical

Repairs and maintains mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components on a variety of packaging/repackaging machines.
- Inspects and measures parts to detect wear and misalignment and replaces as needed.

Aligns and adjusts components on machines to improve or correct machine functionality and production quality.
- Identifies problems within the equipment or process and offers recommendations for improvement.
- Visually inspects, tests, diagnoses, and troubleshoots faulty equipment using a systematic diagnostic approach.

Performs preventative maintenance on all plant equipment and utilities.
- Installs new or repaired parts to keep machines running at a high standard.

Reads and interprets equipment manuals and schematic prints (electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical) to perform required maintenance and service.

Maintains a safe workspace and commitment to safety and quality standards. This includes ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
- Tests all repairs and installations for correct functionality and proper performance.
- Effectively communicates issues, parts used, and any need to restock components.

Trains other employees in specific procedures, methods, and operations regarding processes, facilities, and equipment as directed.

Supports all other business goals as needed to meet company objectives.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
-
High school graduate
- Two years of technical school in Industrial Maintenance, Machine Repair, Automated Systems, or other similar skilled trades is desired

2+ years of verifiable work experience in related fields. Experiences in working with CMMS (computerized maintenance management) Software
-
Experience with PLCs, drives, and industrial controls is desired.

Experience working in Lean Six Sigma environments
-
Experience working in a high volume 24/7 production environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
-
Strong troubleshooting skills a must

Solid strong computer and math skills
-
Electrical experience with systems from low voltage up to 480V 3 phase
- Ability to read/interpret electrical schematics

Instrumentation and PLC troubleshooting and programming skills
-
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

Knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) systems

Able to Re-program machines and robots, if needed

PLCs (programmable logic controllers) strongly preferred

Mechanical knowledge
