Insight Pipe Contracting is seeking to hire a Safety Associate for our Field Operations. The opening is based out of Harmony, PA. This position reports to the Safety Manager and will cover a variety of project locations throughout the company’s geographical footprint (PA, OH, WV, KY, and Eastern Indiana); with projections for future growth.
Position Overview: Assist with planning, directing and implementation of the Company safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment on every project.
Essential Job Functions:
Ø Conduct comprehensive on-site safety assessments at project sites as part of the constant monitoring and corrective actions process.
Ø Help to ensure safety goals are achieved on every project.
Ø Help to ensure all governmental safety regulations are observed and practiced.
Ø Cultivate a positive attitude toward safe work practices among employees by conducting Toolbox Safety Talks educating employees and conducting training as needed.
Ø Visit every jobsite at least weekly.
Ø Ensure employees have all resources necessary to work safely.
Ø Participate in the investigation of all incidents that result in lost time injuries or major property, liability, or equipment damage; produce investigative reports.
Ø Prepare all required reports and ensure they are submitted in a timely manner.
Ø Maintain safety files and records; prepare reports for management as needed.
Ø Analyze and recommend corrective action for all incidents.
Ø Recommend and enforce disciplinary actions for employees who violate safety policies.
Ø Maintain inventory of safety supplies to ensure project safety needs are met.
Ø Ensure Company policies and procedures are understood and implemented consistently.
Ø Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
Ø Communicate and reinforce the Company vision, values, and goals.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in health and safety or related field of study preferred.
- Construction safety experience not required but preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365; Microsoft Teams; preferred
- OSHA 30 or approved equivalent preferred.
- Good problem analysis and resolution skills.
- Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and company safety related laws, regulations, and policies.
- Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to provide effective training and education to others.
- Willingness and ability to work some non-traditional hours
