Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a
Lead Technical Writer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Data Center and Cloud Optimization Program (DCCO) within our growing marketing team to write and develop a variety of customer-facing content. This individual should possess phenomenal writing and editing skills with an attention to detail and quality. Fully remote with occasional travel to VA/DC Metro area.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a variety of team members and should be comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment, be able to multi-task, lead creative brainstorms and provide status summaries to leadership, mentors and other creative members of the team.
- Generate goals, strategies, and business processes and pitch ideas to Marketing and DCCO leadership.
- Create unique, user-friendly, and informative marketing materials while adhering to both Peraton and the customer's style guidelines as well as best SEO practices.
- Manage project timelines, milestones and deliverables to ensure positive project flow and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with other DCCO teams and personnel to brainstorm subjects for creative marketing materials.
- Write technical materials in collaboration with Solutions Architects for contract capabilities and services.
- Write storyboards and/or outlines to map out projects.
- Interview subject matter experts for information or for spotlight/success stories.
- Provide conceptual design support and oversight to the graphics team on the "look and feel" of marketing material output.
- Perform final quality reviews and edits on documents prior to publication.
- Support DCCO proposals on an ad hoc basis.
- Stay abreast of industry and government standards and news.
- Provide mentorship to junior members.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Bachelor's degree and 8 years' experience or Master's degree and 6 years' experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years experience .
- Must have experience of web and proposal content development.
- 8+ years' of experience in a marketing or communications department role.
- Versatility writing a variety of document types, including, but not limited to SOPs, informative, persuasive marketing content, web content, white papers, slick sheets, success stories, etc.
- Highly creative and experienced with identifying target audiences and matching voice and tone to engage the reader.
- Working knowledge of technical concepts and can translate difficult subject matter into readable content for target audiences.
- Phenomenal written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and analytical skills.
- Experience in copywriting, conceptual graphic design, journalism, editing or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP certification.
- Experience in a government contracts environment. Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
