Run the Kitchen at Columbia’s Premiere Hotel
We are searching for an Executive Chef to join our leadership team. We have a robust food and beverage department offering three meals in 2 outlets and in-room dining, and banquets.

Downtown hotel featuring a unique blend of Southern comfort and urban style. The full-service hotel offers Southern American cuisine in its restaurant and adjoining lounge.
Who we are looking for:
The Executive Chef is in command of our kitchen and sanitation for the hotel. Candidate must possess both culinary and managerial skills to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction. You must have previous experience as Executive Chef or Sous Chef at large property/resort.
Responsibilities include:
- The creation of high-quality food from a taste and presentation standpoint.
- Overall financial responsibility of culinary operation. Ensuring labor, food costs, inventory levels, and purchasing is in line.
- Manage/Mentor a team of culinary professionals
- Create checklists and line checks to ensure the kitchen is organized and properly prepared for the shift ahead
- Create prep lists and assign to culinary team members for daily task lists
- Inspect work of culinary team members to ensure sanitation, safety and preparedness
- Help in preparation, design, and execution of all food menus
- Ensure kitchen operates in a timely manner meeting all quality and sanitation standards
- Planning menus and directing food preparation when needed
- Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situations
- Manage and train kitchen staff and assess staff performance
- Order supplies to keep inventory levels under control
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
- Monitoring staff to control quality and food cost as well as ensuring all menu specifications
Requirements Include:
- 2+ years of previous Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager experience required
- 5+ years of Hotel Culinary experience strongly preferred
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Must have managerial experience
- BS Degree in Culinary Arts and/or ServSafe Certification are a plus.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, nights, holidays, and weekends.
