The Vice President (VP) of Construction Business Development is responsible for leading and driving the business development strategy within the construction industry. This executive role involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients, overseeing the proposal development process, and ensuring the company's growth and profitability. The VP will work closely with the executive team to align business development activities with the company’s strategic goals.
Rent Ready Apartment Solutions, a fast-growing provider servicing luxury apartment complexes, is expanding across Texas, Georgia, Colorado, Washington, Virginia, and Maryland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with the company’s overall objectives.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning to shape the business development approach.
- Collaborate with the executive team to set long-term goals and create actionable plans.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
- Lead efforts to understand client needs and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Act as the primary point of contact for major clients and projects.
- Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification:
- Conduct market research to identify potential business opportunities and new markets.
- Evaluate and prioritize opportunities based on strategic fit and potential for growth.
- Develop strategies to enter new markets and expand the company’s client base.
- Proposal Development and Negotiation:
- Oversee the development of proposals, bids, and presentations for potential projects.
- Lead negotiations with clients and partners to secure contracts and agreements.
- Ensure proposals are competitive and align with the company’s capabilities and goals.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing business development team.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the business development budget.
- Monitor and report on the financial performance of business development activities.
- Ensure that business development efforts contribute to the company’s profitability.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other departments, including operations, finance, and marketing, to support business development efforts.
- Communicate business development goals, strategies, and progress to the executive team and other stakeholders.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development within the construction industry, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong understanding of the construction industry, including market dynamics, project management, and client relations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to think strategically and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software and other business development tools.
