Job Description:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in OB / Peds, your role is pivotal in providing comprehensive care to expectant mothers and newborns. Your duties will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of pregnant women, monitoring fetal development, and identifying any potential complications.
- Providing prenatal care, including educating patients about pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
- Assisting with labor and delivery, ensuring the safety and comfort of both mother and baby.
- Performing postpartum assessments and providing care to new mothers and their infants.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by the obstetrician or midwife.
- Educating and supporting patients and their families on breastfeeding, newborn care, and maternal health.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities in accordance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- An active and unrestricted RN license in the state of Minnesota, or Compact State license.
- At minimum, current BLS and ACLS certifications (Certification requirements vary by location).
- At least 2 years of experience as a registered nurse, actively within the last 12 months.
- At least 2 years of specialized experience and expertise in the Obstetrics / Pediatric Department.
- Strong clinical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to various patient needs.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to excel in the sensitive OB / Peds environment.
- Travel experience, and/or willingness to travel.
