Job Description – Accounts Payable Clerk
We are a dynamic Real Estate management, investment and development company based in Brooklyn Heights. We have an expanding residential portfolio in New York City and an out of state commercial portfolio. We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on individual to fill an opportunity within our firm. Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist the Accounts Payable team and Utilities Payable team with day-to-day items and check runs.
- Post invoices within Yardi for payment.
- Prepare and perform check runs with the assistance of the Accounts Payable team.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date; maintain vendor files.
- Provide supporting documentation for audits.
- Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. Follow up on billing statements to ensure invoices are resolved within timely. Reconcile invoices to billing statements.
· Provide regular communication to management regarding status of invoice payments.
· Communicate with vendors via phone or in person to make payment arrangements on delinquent accounts.
Experience:
· A minimum bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
· Proficient with MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheets.
· Must have at least 2-4 years of accounts payable experience
· Must have knowledge working with Yardi Payscan and Yardi Voyager 7s accounting software.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proven excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully in a team environment.
