As an SE (System Engineer), you will be part of a team designing and supporting Physical Security Technology systems (i.e. video surveillance, electronic access control systems, intrusion detection systems, mass notification, etc.) in commercial and government space. Emphasis is placed on having excellent interpersonal, communication and documenting skills. Occasional work off regular hours, participation in on-call rotation, along with light travel up to a week at a time, is to be expected, sometimes on short notice. This involves both physical security tech and IT-related skills (computers, networks, storage systems).
This position requires reliable transportation with a clean driving record and passing a background check and drug test. We’re looking for a mature-minded and responsible professional, who can step into a team leader role when needed and can be trusted to see their assigned tasks through and provide timely and relevant updates with minimal oversight. In-house and outsourced training will be provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist in creating pre-sales systems designs for proposals based on client needs.
· Provide technical support and effective product training, both remote and on site.
· Create, update and follow-up on service tickets.
· Configuring equipment for deployment and post-install troubleshooting and repair of systems, remotely and in the field as required.
DESIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Minimum two years higher-level education, associate’s degree or equivalent education certificates, or having enough industry experience and certifications may be considered.
· Five years or more of hands-on work-related experience in systems configuration and support, particularly in design and deployment.
· Experience working directly with customers. Good interpersonal skills are a must!
· IT related certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or other educational certificates.
· Physical security industry certifications and training, i.e. ASIS, BICSI, Avigilon, Milestone, Genetec, IPVM.com, Open Path, Galaxy Systems, S2 etc. are a plus.

· IP addressing, networking protocols, and troubleshooting.
· Knowledge of low voltage wiring and relays, including dry contacts and relays, configuring process logic using I/O’s.
· Experience configuring and troubleshooting electronic access control (EACS) and alarm systems.
· PC hardware configuration and repair.
· Knowledge of basic router configurations and other networking equipment such as switches, media converters and wireless bridges.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft operating systems.
· Proficiency with other operating systems such as Linux and MacOS is a plus.
· Power user knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Word and experience with diagraming programs, for example Visio, CAD, PowerPoint or similar preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is mostly in an office setting. Project field work is part of this job position, including in industrial facilities with high amounts of dust and loud noises, requiring good vision, hearing, balance, and spatial awareness for safety reasons. May have to work in places that process and store volatile materials, or in corrections facilities. Support will be over the phone, Internet, occasionally involve travel. Working with cameras and lighting may involve high amounts of flashing lights or strobing.
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
