Job Summary:
The Health and Safety Coordinator will help develop Health and Safety policy, protocols, and initiatives to drive improvements in Alltech’s Health and Safety performance. The Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for the development of Health and Safety resources, training programs, procedures, SOPs, KPIs, etc.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Development of the Alltech Health and Safety management systems and protocols (together with other members of the Health and Safety team).

Implementation of the Alltech Health and Safety management system and protocols at the coordinators responsible facilities.

Responsibility for the administration of the Health and Safety management system.

Responsible for company H&S reporting systems, e.g. data collation and report generation to meet company reporting targets.

Conduct routine safety inspections of the work area.

Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety procedures.

Evaluates the effectiveness of environmental, health, and safety programs.

Submits recommendations for improvements and additions to the safety management program including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.

Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.

Development of an Alltech Health and Safety training program for all levels of employees investigating local training schemes and training providers as required. This will include new colleague training.

Assistance will be given to the Regional Safety Managers as necessary, e.g. implementation of site safety audit and safety inspection plans, ensuring all external reporting requirements are met within the regions, etc.

Promote a sustainable safety culture by setting clear expectations, promoting teamwork and clear communication.

Travel approximately 20% of the time to respective facilities within North America
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in health and safety or a related field may be preferred
-
Advanced training or certification in safety or related field preferred

Familiarity with health and safety and environmental regulations
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times

Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
