- Identifies and evaluates operational environmental risks for impact to the business, starting from due diligence through master planning and design phases; analyzes risk scenarios to determine their potential impact to the business and design/lead programs to mitigate those risks
- Conducts assessments of existing EHS programs to ensure alignment with global GDC strategy, including analyzing environmental business risks and identifying, describing and estimating efficiencies to be gained through established programs
- Leads investigations and assessments to support compliance with US local and national regulations
- Assess potential environmental liability risks with a focus on soil and groundwater remediation, hazardous waste, water and wastewater, environmental permitting and compliance, solid waste/geotechnical, air emissions, environmental and human health risk assessment.
- Contribute to regional/global tracking of milestones and deliverables for environmental and regulatory compliance
- Assesses training needs based on identified operational environmental risks and ensures that workforce training activities are provided to meet business and legislative requirements Investigates and analyzes environmental incident reports and recommends measures to prevent recurrence
- Manages global portfolio of EHS initiatives & programs for all environmental initiatives
Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Geology, Biology, Meteorology, or related fields
- Multi-disciplinary knowledge relating to US environmental regulatory requirements, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to review Environmental Impact Assessments and permit applications consistent with required standards for business decision making
- At least 5 years of environmental risk management industry experience Experience in designing and implementing systems to manage EHS risks
- Outstanding collaboration with cross functional teams, project management, and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong analytical, data quality troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to build excellent relationships and get things done
