Ventos Power Plus is seeking MCE Traveling Wind technicians with experience on the AW3000 platform with experience in replacement of major components (blades, gearbox, and generators. GWO prefered. The Heavy Lifts Technician is responsible for the removal and replacement of large components on wind turbines but not limited to blades, generators, gearboxes, transformers, main bearings. Perform prep work of wind turbine components to be replaced. Perform heavy rigging operations to facilitate removal and the replacement of wind turbine components. Perform commissioning duties to return wind turbine to service. Operates specialty tooling such as torque & tension equipment, chain falls, hydraulic pumps. This role requires 100% travel for work done throughout the U.S. Travel periods could be 4 to 6 weeks at a time. A valid drivers liscense with a clean driving record is required. Per Diem is given to accommodate for food and lodging. Pay based off experience and certifications.
Must pass pre-hire background drug screening, Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure the ability to safely perform job functions, and meet the physical demands of the position. Must meet body weight restrictions of 270 pounds or less as required by the safety regulations. Ability to move and manipulate up to 50 pounds, climb vertical ladders, and work at heights up to and greater than 300 feet. Must have the ability to climb multiple wind turbines a day. Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, and adverse and extreme weather conditions.
