Job Summary :
- The Construction Accountant will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our construction projects and corporate operations. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can build and implement effective accounting processes, ensure time and accurate financial reporting, and support the company’s growth objectives. The ideal candidate will have specialized experience in construction accounting, a strong understanding of financial management, and the ability to develop scalable financial systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Book Management
- Oversee and manage the company’s financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Handle all bookkeeping activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- KPI Development and Implementation:
- Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for monthly and yearly billing cycles.
- Track and report on KPIs to monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Critical Date Management:
- Manage key financial deadlines to ensure timely and accurate close-out of books.
- Monitor project timelines and financial milestones to support project completion and financial accuracy.
- Accounts Receivable (A/R) Management:
- Oversee A/R processes to ensure timely invoicing and collection of payments.
- Develop strategies to maintain a steady cash flow and minimize outstanding receivables.
- Accounts Payable (A/P) Management:
- Establish and manage a system to ensure timely payment to subcontractors and vendors.
- Track and report on payments made to vendors prior to reimbursement.
- Engineer and fund a separate account/system to streamline vendor payments.
Corporate Reporting:
- Collaborate with the CFO to build and implement a framework for monthly corporate financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports.
- WIP Management:
- Manage Work-In-Progress (WIP), ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with industry standards.
- Monitor project costs and progress to support financial planning and budgeting.
Performance vs. Budget Management:
- Monitor and analyze financial performance against budgetary goals.
- Identify variances and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Financial Documentation and Facilitation:
- Coordinate with bonding companies, banks, and other financial institutions for necessary documentation.
- Gather financial information for proposals.
- Facilitate CPA reviews of financial statements.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
