Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Capital Campaign and Public Relations Manager to spearhead our upcoming capital campaign and lead our marketing and fundraising efforts. This is a unique role that combines strategic oversight with hands-on implementation, ideal for a versatile marketing professional passionate about making a difference. This individual will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all aspects of the campaign and ensuring the organization meets its fundraising goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in marketing, public relations, and fundraising within the non-profit sector, along with exceptional communication and organizational skills. Experience with sports and/or facility development-related marketing and fundraising is also preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive capital campaign strategy, including timeline, budget, and resource allocation.
- Work closely with senior leadership to set campaign goals and objectives.
Donor Relations & Fundraising:
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors.
- Create personalized stewardship plans for major donors and ensure timely follow-up.
Marketing & Communications:
- Design and execute a multi-channel marketing campaign to promote the capital campaign that leverages digital, print, social media, direct mail, and other innovative outreach strategies.
- Develop compelling campaign materials, including case statements, presentations, proposals, and donor correspondence.
Public Relations:
- Develop and implement PR strategies to support and enhance the campaign’s visibility, outreach, and reputation.
- Create press releases, media kits, and other PR materials.
- Cultivate relationships with media outlets and journalists to secure coverage.
- Organize press conferences, media briefings, and interviews as needed.
Volunteer Management:
- Recruit, train, and manage campaign volunteers, including a campaign steering committee.
- Provide guidance and support to volunteers in their fundraising efforts.
Event Planning:
- Plan and execute fundraising events and activities to support the capital campaign.
- Oversee logistics, budget, and promotion for campaign events.
Data Management & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and contributions in the organization’s database.
- Prepare regular progress reports for senior leadership and the board of directors.
- Analyze campaign performance and make data-driven adjustments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising required, with a focus on capital campaigns, major gifts, and donor relations.
- Proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the non-profit sector.
- Experience with greenfield projects.
- Knowledge of the local philanthropic landscape.
