We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Hospital Systems Medical Assistant to join our team!
Training and preparation for work will be provided through the Ready to Work program offered by Ardent Health. This program is funded at NO COST to the Candidate.

Training will include live online instruction plus convenient hands-on lab skills scheduled in your local area to prepare you to work as a Medical Assistant.

Key Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant/MA provides direct patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse as defined by the Kansas Nurse Practice Act and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The CMA reports to the Clinic Manager or designee.
Essential Job Functions:
· Provides patient care according to the Standards of Care defined within the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the policies and procedures of SFHC.
· Effectively manage department/patient activities in a timely efficient manner to ensure the delivery of care is well-organized and proficient.
· Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, co-workers, and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team to create a professional and respectful environment.
· Greet patients, update demographics, verify insurance and collect payments as necessary.
· Assist physicians with patient treatment and minor surgeries.
· Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain authorizations for procedures and pharmaceuticals.
· Handle patients’ requests for medical information, copies of medical records, refills, test results, etc. as instructed by the physician with signature obtain patient release.
· Prepare lab request forms and tests to be forwarded to the lab.
· Prepare exam rooms, ensuring proper inventory in each room.
· Perform routine medical testing, such as blood testing, EKGs, pulmonary function tests, spirometry tests, hearing, vision, urinalysis, rapid strep tests and drug screening, injections, and vaccinations.
· Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patients brief history and vital signs.
· Reports patient needs/changes to the head nurse in charge in a timely manner, effectively communicating information to the health care team to ensure that others are informed.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
· Possess good organizational skills and pays attention to detail.
· Interacts professionally with staff, patients and families.
· Receptive to both verbal and written directions.
· Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
· Must be able to set priorities
