JCI is seeking a passionate, professional, team oriented individual to join our Youth Transition Services team as a Work Based Learning Specialist! Our team provides guidance, support, instruction and career development opportunities to students with disabilities to ensure a successful transition into adulthood. Work Based Learning Specialists are tasked with ensuring that work based learning opportunities, including internships, are available to students.
Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Assists leadership with design, development and implementation of Pre-ETS projects.
- Target, recruit and enroll eligible youth and young adults for Pre-ETS Projects.
- Market program to potential partners and other external stakeholders.
- Organize work based learning components of Pre-ETS services. Work based learning components include Community Based Assessments, Job Shadowing, Industry and Employer Tours and Internship Site Development.
- Target and recruit employer partners to host work based learning opportunities.
- Ensure that worksites receive quality and timely services and that internal and external satisfaction targets are met.
- Provide guidance and support to Transition Specialist Team. Perform other Pre-ETS services as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Required: Bachelor's Degree with 1 year of Workforce Development and/or Career Counseling
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely records.
- Ability to communicate effectively in positive and negative situations.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision.
- Ability to relate to program consumers, participating agencies and community partners.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form and work with disabled persons.
