Description:
Reporting to the Director Patient & Colleague Safety, Nursing Service Admin, this position coordinates the functional areas of the Environment of Care, including developing, implementing, and evaluating safety programs which promote safe and healthy working conditions. The incumbent is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing emergency management activities. The incumbent will ensure program-related policies and documents reflect internal and external requirements including compliance with accrediting agencies, and local, state, and federal regulations. This position will work closely with hospital leadership to execute program priorities.
1. Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, public health, safety, or related field is required.
2. Five (5) years of healthcare-related experience in environment of care, safety, emergency management, or related field is required.
3. Three (3) years of experience in emergency and/or disaster operations is required. Experience in healthcare and multi-agency operations is preferred. Experience serving in a leadership role in emergency management/response is preferred.
4. Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal skills is required.
5. Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and managing multiple priorities is required.
6. Experience coordinating with internal and external partners to execute program priorities is required.
7. Knowledge of California-specific regulations including Cal-OSHA and California Title XXII is preferred.
8. Knowledge of federal OSHA regulations, Joint Commission standards, and other applicable regulatory information is preferred.
9. Current Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) credential or related credential is preferred.
Pay Range ($41.00 - $61.50)
