TITTLE: Exam Developer

OVERVIEW:
Our client, one of the best employers in South Florida, seeks a full-time Assistant Certification Exam Developer to join its Certification team, as the provide nine high-stakes certification examinations and 12 endorsements which depend critically on the quality of exam questions and exam development. The primary responsibility of the position includes daily management of item pools, migration of data from the legacy system, development of new items, maintenance of existing items and exams for ongoing live exams, involvement in new exam development, and working with volunteer subject matter experts and exam bank members to write, review, and approve items and update exams.
Duties and responsibilities/essential function
- Assist the exam developer in working with the exam bank committee to define domains/subdomains of exams and validate the content of items.
- Assist the exam developer in managing and ensuring the health of exam banks (Item pools) for our client certification and endorsement exams.
- Assist item writing training to subject matter experts to generate new items on a continuous basis.
- Be an expert in using the online authoring system to effectively manage item writing pool adequacy, and form assembly.
- Participate in all certification-related activities, including job task analysis, item development, and exam production.
- Support all operational activities including form assembly, translation of content, item analysis, and results reporting.
- Work closely with the Exam Bank Subcommittee and Exam Development Team to uphold the quality of exams and items.
- Manage the recruitment of outside item writers and membership; and Assist in the research, planning, development, implementation, and data analysis for new and existing certification exams.
Required Qualifications include:
- BS/BA or Associate degree.
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years of professional work experience.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to plan and prioritize to meet established goals, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Excellent oral/written communication, presentation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications include:
- A BS/BA degree.
- At least 1 to 2 years of professional work experience in certification exam development or interacting with item writing committees.
- Experience in professional editing, training, or education is a plus.
- Be bilingual or multilingual.
