We won! Arctic Slope Mission Services (ASMS), a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, was recently awarded a Records and Information Management program supporting the US Department of Justice (DOJ)! We are seeking an Indexer/Records Management Specialist to join our team. This position will work two days remote and three days on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Acquire, organize, and analyze records for indexing records management systems for search and retrieval.
- Apply records retention schedules to files, archiving and disposition, and add the required metadata in the appropriate format for both paper and electronic content.
- Maintain daily activity statistics and produce monthly activity reports.
- Review and identify records management procedures, policies, conventions, and controls currently in place, such as naming conventions, version management, file plans etc., and compile and organize records accordingly.
- Educate staff on records management best practices and day-forward policies, strategies, and procedures to meet ongoing records management needs.
- Perform records information services, development of procedures, collection and inventory management.
- Organize, classify and index; train DOJ staff in records, records center and other information procedures.
- Database development (using Agency-approved off the shelf software) and utilization and other duties of a central records center.
This position offers a "hybird" work schedule with 2 days "remote" and 3 days on-site with our DOJ customer. - High school diploma and 8 years of records experience OR a Bachelor's degree and 4 years of records management experience.
- Experience creating file plans and working with retention schedules.
- Federal records management experience strongly preferred to include familiarity with NARA guidelines.
- Must know how to manage and organize records in all formats.
- Experience with records management software, content management systems and knowledge of working with federal records is a plus.
- Experience working directly with clients that may include interviewing, providing trainings and ad hoc support, responding to requests and presenting information at both junior and senior levels.
- US Citizenship is required for the government background investigation.
