Job Title: Administrative Assistant III - Library (Volunteers and Unapproved Books)
Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt
Pay Group: P20 Salary Plan
Primary Purpose: Liaison between TDCJ and WSD for volunteers. Maintains volunteer data for the campuses. Tracks unapproved books and directs campuses in taking the proper action. Processes campus packing slips. Work involves computer operations, maintaining library materials, processing the movement of books and performing various tasks related to library operations.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Experience:
High school diploma from an accredited high school or hold GED.
Three years of full-time, wage-earning experience in general clerical/secretarial duties.
Type 55 net words per minute with no more than ten errors verified by the appropriate Texas Workforce Commission or TDCJ typing test preferred.
This position requires personal technology that will enable the completion of job duties and responsibilities when working remotely.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Skill to maintain manual and automated record keeping systems.
Ability to communicate clearly with varied audiences.
Ability to travel frequently.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Liaison between TDCJ and WSD volunteers.
2. Process and enter volunteer application in appropriate systems.
3. Track unapproved books in campus libraries and communicate with campus staff.
4. Compile packing slips and review for discrepancies.
5. Receive request for donated books and assist with distribution of books to campus libraries.
6. Compile, analyze, and tabulate data and prepare related reports.

7. Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of the job duties.
8. Perform duties in a professional manner through daily, punctual attendance at locations of work assignment.
9. Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties.
10. Execute duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247, Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
